Established in October of 1980, the stated goal of Delta Fine Arts Guild was “to promote fine art and fine art exhibition opportunities for all area artists.” The members were serous about emphasizing the continual growth of individual artists with educational meetings, workshops, and sharing of expertise. Meetings focused as little as possible on business and concentrated instead on learning new techniques and improving old ones. Members took turns sharing their talent and group critiqued were held three times a year.
The first judged art show was held in 1980 and continued annually through 1925. In addition, the club held art yard sales, exhibits at Deltarado Days and other local events, an art displays in the parking lot at Summerfest, exhibits at galleries around Western Colorado, and occasional member shows, miniature shows, and other events. By 1983 the club boasted 50 members, including many professional artists.
