TR (Tom) Wells in lives with his wife in Hotchkiss, Colorado. A self-trained artist, Tom began drawing and painting as a young man and pursued his art off and on over the next 40 years. After becoming an empty nester Tom pursued his art on a more regular schedule. With retirement, drawing and painting became a full time vocation.
Tom draws with graphite, charcoal, ink and colored pencil and paints with watercolor. He is inspired by nature, old stuff and interesting faces. He enjoys painting old cars and trucks, flowers and plants, and draws portraits of fascinating faces and pets, feathers, flowers wildlife and bird nests. He strives to be an artist that is ever changing and growing, creating art that is inventive, fresh and that is interesting to the eye and stimulates the mind.
Tom has received awards from the Delta Fine Arts Guild annual art show, Montrose Center for the Art show , the County Fair and The Edge of Cedars Annual Art Exhibit for his graphite and charcoal drawings.
